NEWS
** My new Novel 'The Missing' is now available to buy here **
August 2020: Wrote 'The End' at the bottom of my latest manuscript tonight. This is something I do with the first draft of every book (although I don't do it with subsequent drafts). It feels just a special now, after seven books, as it did with the first.
June 2020: Delighted to be a guest on Chat and Spin radio tomorrow evening (10 June), around 9.15pm. I'll be talking about my latest book and other things writing related at www.chatandspinradio.com
April 2020: Rewrites for Creepers are coming along nicely, and the new book is flying at the moment. This one's set in the Middle East and features Genies. But not the sort Robin Williams (or Will Smith, if you're not as old as me) would be interested in
December 2019: Guest blog post published at Kyrobooks
June 2019: I'll be at Cymera Fest - Scotland's first festival of horror, sci-fi, and fantasy - this coming Friday and Saturday. There are some free events, too, so pop in and say hi if you're in the area
January 2019: The first draft of book one of my new YA zombie trilogy (called 'Creepers') is finished and I've made a start on the second volume. In between writing book two, I'll be working on the final draft of my adult crime novel with a view to releasing that later in the year.
October 2018: Just in time for Halloween, my novella 'The Loch' is now available as a paperback
August 2018: My short horror story 'Resus' has been picked up by the 'Not Ready for Rhyme Time' podcast.
November 2017: My short story 'Pic' has been accepted for publication by The Write Launch in their December issue; more info and links posted soon
September 2017: It's been a busy year. I'll be helping out at Bloody Scotland Literary Festival this year (if you're in the Stirling area between Fri 8th & Sunday 9th Sept then pop in and catch a fantastic show). The latest book is now in the final round of editing (had to change the title due to a TV programme already being called The Missing) and have a couple of other projects well underway. See the blog for more details.
July 2016: The launch of the anthology went really well. Since then, I've been hard at work on my new book (working title 'The Missing') as well as some more short stories. Just finished the first draft of one exploring loss, set in an opera house.
June 2016: The new anthology from Tyne & Esk Writers launches on 30th June. Called 'From The LIghthouse', it features a selection of stories and poems, including my own story 'Absolution'. I'll be one of the authors reading from it at the launch party. I also have a piece on the Scottish Book Trust's Secrets and Confessions page here: http://scottishbooktrust.com/writing/secrets-and-confessions/story/not-such-a-beautiful-game
Fantastic night last night at the Three Harbours Lit Fest. I read my short story 'Hide and Seek', which is now available to read on the Stories page
May 2016: It's been a busy few weeks. Two short stories sold, and I've been working on a thriller that's coming together nicely. More news on that soon
Jan 2016: New novella 'The Loch' is now available exclusively as an ebook. Check out the Books page for more info
